(en) In April 1985, almost 1000 animals were liberated (1 monkey, 21 cats, 9 opossums, 35 rabbits, 38 pigeons, 70 gerbils, 300 mice, rabbits and 460 rats) from the University of California at Riverside, US. Documents and videotapes were taken with an estimated US$700.000 damage caused. These videotapes were shown to the media to expose vivisection at it´s worst. A vido entitled „Britches“ was made to document the success story of one infant primate who was isolated in a steel cage after animal researchers had crudely stitched his eyes shut for a blindness experiment. Grant Mack, former president of the American Council of the Blind, called the US$275.000 experiment „one of the most repugnant and ill-conceived boondoggies that I´ve heard about for a long time.“ (12:11 min)

Birmingham Fascist-Anti-Fascist Street Fights

Saturday 8 August 2009: The English Defence League (EDL) and Casuals United attempted to march through Birmingham. Both groups claim they are not racist and are only concerned with peaceful protest against militant Muslims. Some scenes in this video rush clearly show racist abuse from those in these groups.

Unite Against Fascism held a counter demonstration, to oppose these groups, both being involved in clashes with police and residents earlier in the year in Birmingham and Luton.

This time, as the video shows, the EDL members that avoided being "kettled" by police went straight for the anti-fascist protest, goaded the Birmingham youth, then got beaten and chased out of town.

News from North Dakota, today, is that Leonard Peltier's parole has
been denied.  He won't receive another full parole hearing until
2024, at the age of 79 years.

As sad as we all are, we are steadfast, undefeated. We will not
go away.  We will not be quiet.

Take a moment to reflect.  Just a moment.  But then put your
disappointment behind you.  Gather your strength.  There's much
work to be done.

* Action Item 1:  Contact the Attorney General *

On June 23, 1995, Amnesty International submitted a letter of concern
about the Peltier case to the then U.S. Attorney General. There
was no response. Write to Eric Holder, Attorney General. Ask him
to conduct an executive review of the case and to finally right
the wrongs of the past. Tell him it's never too late to find the
truth. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Use all the resources at your disposal to contact your Members of
Congress and continue urging them to support freedom for Leonard
Peltier. That support should be formally expressed in correspondence
to President Obama.

Also demand a full congressional investigation into the Reign of
Terror on the Pine Ridge Reservation during the '70s.  It's long

Leonard Peltier Speaks From His Jail Cell

Imprisoned Native American activist Leonard Peltier will have his first full parole hearing in 15 years on Tuesday. He has been in prison for the past 33 years after being convicted of killing two FBI agents during a shootout on South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in 1975. Peltier has long maintained his innocence and is widely considered a political prisoner who was not granted a fair trial. (en) This is the original footage of the Nazi Death Camps which were taken by the Allies when they captured and liberated them. This is direct evidence that was used against the Nazis during the Nuremburg Trials.

Very rare, and almost impossible to find on the web. This is completely uncensored rarely any video cutting. The only narration is what the Allies Chief Commander narrating the conditions while showing it around.

The quality is avarage, but what can you expect? This was shot by army camera men in 1944 and was never digitally mastered.

(sk) Toto sú autentické zábery nacistických (koncentračných) táborov smrti, ktoré boli natočené spojencami, ktorí ich zaistili a oslobodili. Toto sú priame dôkazy, ktoré boli použité proti nacistom počas Nurimberských súdov.

Veľmi vzácne zábery. Je to úplne necenzurované a málo nastrihaného videa. Jediný komentár je tam od hlavného dôstojníka spojencov, ktorý rozpráva popri prehliadke.

Kvalita je priemerná, ale čo by ste čakali? Bolo to natočené vojenskými kameramanmi v roku 1944 a nebolo to nikdy digitálne upravované.

The tradition of black blocking grew out of the autonomen movements in Germany in the 1980s; Autonomen wore black during militant action in the process of squat defenses, and during solidarity-demonstrations.

One explanation for the Autonomen's clothing choice is that black was the color of the leather jackets that squatters wore for warmth and to deflect blows from police batons, whereas ski masks were practical ways to filter out tear gas and to protect one's identity. They were dubbed by the German media as der schwarze Block. The tradition was first seen in the United States of America during protests against the Gulf War in Iraq in February 1991 where it was initiated by Love and Rage, a North American revolutionary anarchist organization. Black as a color has historically been associated with anarchism, dating back to the black flags which accompanied bread riots at the time leading up to the Paris Commune.

Today groups that have engaged in similar forms of action include Radical Anti-Capitalist Blocs, Anti-Racist Action, and Anti-Fascist Action. Join the Black Bloc!

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is at work all over the world, but you’ll know Paul Watson best for patrolling Arctic waters intercepting whaling convoys. Whale Wars, now in its second season on Animal Planet, follows Watson and his feisty crew aboard the Steve Irwin as they ram boats, hurl stink bombs, and try to otherwise spoil the whale hunt. In the process, Watson claims he has been shot and his crew pummeled with fire hoses, golf balls, and high-tech sound cannons. All the while the debate rages over whether this is terrorism, piracy, or heroism.
In our interview, Watson gives details of these daring encounters and drops some details of the coming season when his fleet will add the Earthrace, a record-breaking eco-speedboat, to directly intercept Japanese harpoon boats. Love him or hate him, Watson claims to be closing in on victory: “Our objective is to sink the Japanese whaling fleet economically, and I think we're achieving that. One more season, maybe two, and we'll put them out of business.”

(en) From flip-flops to footballs, water bottles to wastebaskets, plastic is everywhere in our world, and Ian Connacher's documentary confronts this daunting ubiquity head on. As he rises from his bed in the morning and the camera follows him into the shower, text pops up on the screen next to every plastic product he encounters. It's typical of his thoroughness and his wit, twin traits that lift this film out of the ordinary.

Sensibly alarmed and endlessly curious about plastic, Connacher trudges from time zone to time zone in search of answers. What does it do to our oceans? He observes maritime researchers tracking, counting and scooping a shocking amount of plastic from the most isolated regions of the sea. Where does our plastic waste go? It's off to India, just one of North America's offload destinations, where we see appalling overflow and some innovative solutions. What are some alternatives? We visit a manufacturer of "bioplastic," a more organic, more degradable option. So it goes, a scrupulous, adventurous trip through the history, economics, ecology and science of this infinitely problematic substance. This is no shrill rallying cry; Connacher keeps a level head through all the depressing environmental statistics and the endless pile-up of packed landfills. He's not out to inflame but to inform, and on that level Addicted to Plastic is most impressive.

Dá se z nich vyrobit mnoho užitečných věcí - od srdečních chlopní po předměty zcela prozaické denní potřeby. Problém je v tom, že plastové výrobky mají téměř neomezenou životnost, a když doslouží, nastává onen známý problém "kam s ním". Část plastů se spálí nebo využije pro další výrobu, některé skončí na skládkách, ale kvůli lidské nedbalosti a lhostejnosti jich mnoho zatěžuje životní prostředí. Na souši i na vodě. Alarmující je zjistění, že "plastové ostrovy" zamořují i světové oceány. Pole plovoucích plastových odpadů zaujímají v současnosti rozlohu o velikosti Evropy.
